Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the heart of Madison, Mississippi, Primos Cafe offers a charming diner experience that beautifully showcases Southern and Cajun-inspired breakfast and lunch fare. This cozy breakfast restaurant is a beloved local gem where comfort meets bold flavors, inviting guests to savor breakfast all day long in a warm, casual setting.

Primos Cafe's menu truly shines with its standout dishes that effortlessly blend hearty Southern tradition with a touch of Cajun spice. The Cajun Crawfish Omelette is a must-try: a fluffy three-egg omelet generously loaded with succulent crawfish tails, earthy mushrooms, juicy tomatoes, and fresh green onions, all layered with sharp cheddar cheese and seasoned with vibrant Cajun blackened spices. The finishing touch—a creamy Cajun Diane sauce—adds a luscious depth that perfectly complements grits or crispy hash browns and your choice of toast or biscuit. For those craving a satisfying sandwich, the Crawfish Po’boy bursts with crispy-fried crawfish piled high on a toasted bun, topped with a tangy remoulade sauce, shredded lettuce, and ripe tomato—a classic Louisiana favorite brought lovingly to Mississippi’s doorstep.

Lunch and dinner menus continue to impress with seasonal specials and comforting blue plate options like the Sweet & Spicy Pork Loin and the popular Catfish Blue Plate, offering wholesome flavors that feel like home-cooked meals. Those with a lighter palate will appreciate the fresh and vibrant Strawberry Spinach Feta Salad, where sweet strawberries, creamy feta, crunchy pecans, and a balsamic vinaigrette dance in perfect harmony. And for a true Southern touch, the complimentary cornbread or roll makes every meal feel complete.

The atmosphere at Primos Cafe reflects its down-to-earth and inviting nature. Customers consistently praise the friendly, efficient service, highlighting the convenience of ordering at the front desk before settling into comfortable booths and tables. Despite a bustling crowd, the cafe remains spotless and pleasantly unhurried, creating a relaxed environment ideal for casual meals or catching up with friends and family. Unlimited coffee rounds out the experience, adding a cozy, welcoming touch especially appreciated during breakfast meetings or leisurely weekend starts.

Patrons of Primos Cafe share a variety of honest experiences that speak to the cafe’s genuine appeal. Visitors like Raychel G have noted the remarkable value—enjoying flavorful omelets, crispy bacon, and fluffy biscuits at very reasonable prices. While some have encountered a few hiccups with food temperatures or less favored sides, the overall charm of the menu and attentive service keep them coming back. The standout crispy fried broccoli and well-prepared fried chicken have also garnered positive mentions, reinforcing Primos Cafe as a kitchen that aims to please and innovate.

Whether you’re seeking a comforting breakfast that lasts all day or a taste of Southern soul food with a Cajun twist, Primos Cafe in Madison offers an authentic, flavorful experience paired with genuine Southern hospitality. It's a delightful spot to unwind, share hearty meals, and discover local favorites that warm the heart and satisfy the appetite.

Great experience. Walked in and you have to order at the front desk then you go and sit in a booth/table. They bring your order to you. The menu serves breakfast ALL DAY!! They have weekly specials as well. Prices were very reasonable. My omelet, bacon, hash browns, and biscuit was only 12$. They have an entire section of just desserts! It was very clean and even with a lot of people it wasn’t loud. It was a great experience and kids would love this place.

Me and my hubby went out for lunch after a long day sad day. We ordered the special for that day (meatloaf). Food was not as warm as I would have liked however the price was very reasonable.

Good job on the fried chicken. I won't get the coleslaw again but some folks might like it like that. I got a good assortment of cookies. The taste was like their shooting more for something healthy rather than the reason most people buy cookie.

A great, classic spot. I met up with a peer to review some work items over breakfast. There was plenty of seating, service was quick and there was unlimited coffee.

Service was good. The restaurant is cute! I ordered the special of the day, mushroom chicken with 3 sides. The chicken and sauce was ice cold. However, the fried broccoli was amazing!! The squash casserole and Mac and cheese were pretty good. I would give Primos another chance just based on that broccoli.

My parents, husband and myself stopped in for breakfast. We had a terrific experience. The coffee was delicious and piping hot. The biscuits were huge and quite popular at our table. We as good southern cooks can make a biscuit to be proud of and these impressed us. The scrambled eggs were perfectly fluffy and not dry. The grits were creamy and delicious. Our service was wonderful as well. A great place to eat a yummy breakfast with the people you love!

A good diner for some quick lunch or dinner. I had a chicken wrap which was good. Their salads are good too. Have a decent variety of options. Moderately crowded for lunch on a weekday. Ambience was good enough for the price. They sell a great selection of desserts

Quintessential diner! Primos has been a staple in the community for decades. While it’s under recent new ownership it has kept its recipes, charm and quality. Breakfast, lunch or dinner will not miss. An amazing variety to please the pickiest child or experienced tongue. The early bird is always satisfying. Eggs your way, a biscuit, creamy grits and bacon. The hot lunches with a meat and 2 sides will satisfy the desire for home-cooked, well-seasoned fare. Sandwiches like the club or Reuben satisfy the sandwich itch when you are craving that. Visit Primos. Experience a taste of the south!
